As a part of a Modern Greek Culture course I took at the University of Michigan, our class studied certain fictional works by Greek authors, in order to help us understand some of the challenges faced by Greek society, and how cultural roots, ancestry, and history have impacted the daily lives of many Greeks.
I highly recommend reading the collection of short stories, Something Will Happen, You’ll See, written by Christos Oikonomou.
For my final project in this class, I chose to use my photographs to represent some of my favorite short stories in this collection. These photographs are displayed above. I hope you find some new perspectives from which you can view these images and interpret their symbolism.
